The deceased was identified as Md Apan, 18, son of Badsha Mia from Nilphamari. Bachchu Bhuiyan, in-charge of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) police out-post, said Apan and other cleaners were cleaning the road after putting plastic barricades on the road in front of the Postogola toll plaza. A private car hit Apan after smashing through the barricade, leaving him severely injured, he said. After being taken to the DMCH, doctors declared him dead, Bhuiyan said.
