An ambulance rushed to the scene as passers-by lifted the bare tree so the girl could be dragged free. Pictures show that the tree had flattened a fence and crashed into the pavement as the teen walked past. Stuart Burns, 68, was driving towards the scene when he saw the tree blow over in the high winds. The local said he rushed over and helped lift the tree with the help of some passing rubbish collectors.
