Memphis police say a 17-year-old boy has been charged with second degree murder and other offenses in a shooting that left a 16-year-old girl dead and five other people wounded. Police spokeswoman Karen Rudolph said Friday that the boy is charged in the death of 16-year-old Alana Tello. He also faces 10 counts of attempted murder and 10 counts of using a firearm during a dangerous felony. Police said Tello was killed and five others were wounded when a group of people wearing bandannas over their faces opened fire Tuesday night at Zodiac Park. The Commercial Appeal reports the boy appeared in juvenile court for a detention hearing Friday.
