I served on active duty in the U.S. Air Force and currently serve in the U.S. House of Representatives. I never thought the president of the United States would tell members of Congress to “go back” to another country. I was in my Air Force blues when a woman asked if I was in the Chinese air force. The United States represents hope, freedom and opportunities to those who are born here and to those who are not. Notwithstanding the current occupant of the Oval Office, the United States is, and will remain, an exceptional nation.
