OUR CORRESPONDENTJalpaiguri: The agitating students of Jalpaiguri Government Engineering College on Sunday rejected a plea by minister Gautam Deb to withdraw the strike despite his assurance that an inquiry committee would be constituted to probe their allegations. The senior students, mostly from second year classes, have been agitating since Friday, seeking suspension of teacher Dipak Kumar Kole. If any step needs to be taken against the accused teacher, legal action will be taken against the agitating students also," Deb said at the college. When students did not agree to withdraw the strike, the minister got annoyed. As our demands are ignored, we have no other option but to continue our agitation," Rounak Nayek, one of the agitating students, said.
