The late victims were on their way to Agatu for the senatorial campaign of former minister of interior and Benue South Senatorial candidate of the PDP, Comrade Abba, Moro before the accident occurred. In his funeral oration, the Bishop of Methodist Church, Adinu diocese in Oju, Bishop Emmanuel Ode, charged believers to always be prepared as death can come at any time. The Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom, on his part, announced the approval and appointment of each of the bereaved family members into the state civil service. He promised that the state government will liaise with national assembly member from the area to ensure that the federal government takes action on the road from Oju to Ebonyi. “I want to admonish the families of the bereaved to take solace in God and continue to look up to God for their needs,” he said.
