NewsIn today's News Tear gas for uni students and for cricket fans in DambullaPolice fired teargas and water cannons to disperse university students staging a protest march and blocking the Galle Road near the Kollupitiya junction,yesterday. The protest was organized by the Inter University Students Federation (IUSF) against the private medical college in Malabe (SAITM) and demanding an increase in the university intake. Meanwhile Police fired tear gas to disperse a group of protesters who demonstrated, obstructing the main road opposite the Dambulla International Cricket Stadium. However, this resulted in a tense situation between cricket fans and the police. Police then fired tear gas to disperse the protestors.
