Left-arm pacer Mrittunjoy Chowdhury registered the first hat-trick of the Bangabandhu Bangladesh Premier League Twenty20 2022 to lead Chattogram Challengers to their third win. Defending a mammoth total, Mrittunjoy shined with the ball to give the port city outfit a 16-run victory over Sylhet Sunrisers in Chittagong's Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium Saturday. Wickets kept falling on the other end of the crease while Anamul held his ground before falling to Mrittunjoy for a 47-ball 78 to trigger the hat-trick. The young Chattogram bowler accounted for his second wicket, that of Mosaddek Hossain Saikat for a golden duck and then removed English all-rounder Ravi Bopra on 16 off 12 to write history. Mrittunjoy finished with three wickets conceding 33 runs in his quota of four overs, followed by left-arm spinner Nasum Ahmed with two scalps.
