KUANTAN (Bernama): Not only were her holiday plans ruined, a woman also suffered losses of RM23,288 after being cheated by a man claiming to be a representative of a loan company, which did not exist. Pahang Commercial CID chief Supt Mohd Wazir Mohd Yusof said the 26-year-old teacher claimed she found out about the loan company through Facebook on Jan 28, 2019. "She was then contacted by a man who claimed to be a representative of a company. "The latter informed her that she had to make process payments as the loan had been approved,'' he told reporters here Thursday (April 25). Supt Mohd Wazir said the victim had made 12 payments in stages, purportedly for numerous purposes, into an account given by the suspect.
