Teacher keeps registration despite false results

A teacher who lied about his students' NCEA results will be allowed to keep teaching. A teacher who at least 10 times falsified about his students' exam results has been allowed to continue teaching. But it decided not to cancel Mr Gittins' registration, saying: "We trust that he appreciated the seriousness of his conduct and will not be referred again." The school then contacted a teacher at another school who had been named by Mr Gittins as verifying results in 10 cases. The other teacher said he had offered to verify NCEA results for Mr Gittins but had not in fact been asked to verify any of the 10 cases.
