MIRI: A primary school teacher here is being investigated by police for making comments on social media that allegedly insulted Islam. Sarawak Criminal Investigation Department (CID) chief Datuk Dev Kumar said that to date, two police reports had been lodged in Kuching and Miri after his comments, which were posted on his Facebook account, went viral. “We have identified the Facebook account holder and we will be calling him for questioning,” he said on Sunday. The teacher had allegedly made comments on Islam and the United States' recognition of Jerusalem – a holy city for Muslims, Christians and Jews – as the capital of Israel. A check on his Facebook page showed he had apologised for his comments and expressed remorse for angering Muslims in the country, including his friends and relatives.
