Leah Wanjiru Kanene, a teacher at Uhuru primary, who was arrested on Monday morning in her house, was detained by police for two days to allow for further investigations. Police have accused Wanjiru of giving false information that she had been abducted and demanded a ransom for her release. But Wanjiru pleaded with the court to release her on grounds that she has a small child who is sick. She was released on a cash bail of Sh20, 000 or stay in remand at Buruburu police station pending investigations.
