Tottenham Hotspur Football ClubHey, Jon Gruden will get to do something new this fall in his return to the Oakland Raiders: He will coach his first football game in England. Four NFL games were played in London this season, with two games drawing more than 84,000 each at Wembley and two games each drew 73,000 at Twickenham Stadium, normally used for rugby union. The Raiders-Seahawks game is a catch for London not just because of Gruden, but because some of the London matchups have been regarded as lackluster. There has been much speculation that the NFL, which started playing regular-season games in London in 2007, could eventually put a full-time NFL team in the United Kingdom. “This is another important year as we develop our plans for London and the UK,” Mark Waller, the executive vice-president of events and international, said in a Tottenham Hotspur news release.
