Te Anau police officer returns to work after suffering burns to 18 per cent of his body

A police officer who suffered burns to 18 per cent of his body in a horrifying home accident nearly five months ago has returned to work. Supplied Te Anau police constable Kris Dale soon after suffering burns to 18 per cent of his body following a gas explosion on April 9. The community support he and his family received in the wake of the accident, both from Te Anau and from around New Zealand, had shocked him. “In particular this [Te Anau] community got completely behind me and my family and looked after us. “I jumped back thinking ... that’s hot.”Supplied Te Anau police constable Kris Dale, a keen hunter, pictured before he suffered burns to 18 per cent of his body.
