Photo / SuppliedTauranga legal software startup LawVu has raised $17 million in a Series A round led by New York-based venture capital firm Insight Partners with support from Australia's AirTree Ventures. LawVu makes cloud-based software for in-house legal teams, helping with tasks such as creating contracts, collaboration and sharing documents. "Often in a big firm, there's a lot of repetitive legal work, or sometimes the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing," Kidd said. LawVu increased staff numbers from 20 at the start of last year to more than 70. LawVu's twin raises this year follow big wins across the Tasman where Telstra and Nissan Australia have adopt the company's software.
