MUMBAI: The Tata group has put out a mandate for an external talent to head its human resources (HR) as part of the chairman's strategy to put in place a new crack team to help the group reinvent itself in the marketplace. Already Chandrasekaran has put together a completely new support team — comprising several external hires and talent from Tata Consultancy Services TCS ). "It was always clear that Padmanabhan is holding fort for now. He served at TCS as HR director and several other senior executive positions from the start of his career at the Tata group in 1982. He was also interim chairman of Tata Power until Chandrasekaran took over.
