This came after the passage of a city ordinance providing that senior citizens are entitled to free admission to movie houses and carnivals operating in the city. Senior citizens can watch a movie for free except on weekends and special screenings. Vice Mayor Genaro Mendoza said under the agreement, 72 percent of the cinema entrance fee will be shouldered by SM Prime Holdings while the 20 percent senior citizens discount and the remaining 8 percent will be charged against the city government.
