TARLAC CITY: A Legislative E-Library was officially opened here by members of the city council that offers free internet services to students and researchers. Through City Ordinance 014-11 authored by Councilor Richard Diolazo, chairman of the committee on information and communications technology, the facility will cater to the information needs of its clients during office hours on weekdays. Its operations will be under the supervision of the council secretariat which formulated rules and regulations in availing its services. But unlike internet cafes, the Legislative E-Library disallows the use of social media applications such as Facebook, Youtube and porn sites. Vice Mayor Genaro Mendoza said the facility, located at the 3rd floor of legislative building, is purely for research purpose, especially in local history, legislative activities, and other significant studies.
