After taking the charge, the new DSCC mayor will hold a virtual press conference from his office at the Nagar Bhaban at 3 pm, said DSCC Public Relations Officer Uttam Kumar Ray as reported by BSS. Ruling Awami League-backed candidates Barrister Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh and Atiqul Islam swept the mayoral elections of the city corporations. The tenure of outgoing DSCC Mayor Mohammad Sayeed Khokan expires on May 16, while DNCC Mayor Atiqul took office on Wednesday. Taposh is the second mayor of the DSCC since the division of Dhaka City Corporation (DCC) into two city corporations in 2015.
