UPDF Ganatantrik President Tapan Jyoti Chakma, also known as Barma, was killed along with three supporters and the driver of the car in this attack that took place at Friday noon. He and Tapan Jyoti were among the 19 people accused in a case of abduction of Monty Chakma and Doyasona Chakma, two Hill Women’s Federation leaders. Khagrachhari Superintendent of Police Ali Ahmed Khan said the dead bodies were being brought to Khagrachhari Sadar Hospital for autopsy. Among the injured, Mihir Chakma, Arjun Chakma, Archin Chakma and Diganta Chakma were sent to Chittagong Medical College Hospital. Shanti Ranjan Chakma, Jibon Chakma, Priti Kumar Chakma and another are being treated at Khagrachhari Sadar Hospital.
