Taoyuan airport expects record traveler numbersBy Fion Khan / Staff writer, with CNATaoyuan International Airport Corp (TIAC) forecast a record-breaking single-day peak of 162,000 passengers on the first day of the Tomb Sweeping holiday today. Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport was crowded with departing travelers this morning, with long lines forming in the check-in hall. People wait in Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport’s arrival hall on Feb. 22. More than 920,000 travelers were expected from yesterday through Tuesday next week, TIAC said. Average daily traffic was expected to reach about 155,000, up 12.1 percent from the same period last year, it said.
