Tanzanian vice president Samia Hassan has given the clearest hint yet that President John Magufuli could be sick in the wake of widespread rumours about his health. The vice president spoke in a video clip captured by Mwananchi Digital. However, Hassan, the country’s first female vice president, indicated that all may not be well with the president and called on Tanzanians to unite in prayers. The vice president called on Tanzanians not to listen to rumours from people outside the country and unite together in prayers and build their nation. The tough-talking Magufuli has on several occasions downplayed the threat of the pandemic and last June, declared his country Covid-19 free.
