(Photo: Tak Public Relations Office)TAK - The driver of a 10-wheel tanker truck was caught attempting to smuggle 20,000 litres of diesel to Myanmar through a natural border crossing in Mae Sot district on Sunday. Officials said the 10-wheel tanker was found to have been "modified" and was carrying 20,000 litres of contraband diesel to Myanmar. The driver, truck and seized contraband were handed over to Mae Sot police for further investigation into the those operating and financing the smuggling operation. In Mae Sot, in particular, long queues of vehicles extend back along roads outside the pumps and fresh deliveries are exhausted within hours, causing widespread impact.
