GEORGE TOWN: The Tanjung Bungah communities here are living on high alert following the landslide and sinkhole incidents where parts of the newly-built luxury houses had collapsed on Sunday. “I was shocked by the images as my condominium is located about 500 metres from the affected area. Several state and federal government agencies were also seen assessing the damages and inspecting the soil movements near the incident area. The MBPP engineering department officers were seen entering the construction site which was cordoned off to the public. Checks at the state’s One Stop Centre portal showed that the then MBPP had approved the project on July 22, 2011.
