Multiple helicopters work to put out a forest fire near Himatangi Beach. The Tangimoana forest fire is now fully contained, after six helicopters and more than 50 people fought the largest forest fire Manawatū had seen in five years. One helicopter, ground fire crews, and heavy machinery will be on scene on Saturday , strengthening containment lines and managing any hotspots. Principal rural fire officer Bradley Shanks said crews had done a great job, working hard since the fire started at 6pm Thursday. 1 NEWS Fire crews are battling the blaze from the ground and the sky.
