A group of transgenders thanked Tamil Nadu Chief Minister on Monday for coming out with schemes for their benefits and upliftment. According to official sources, 358 transgenders were issued ID cards, 329 ration card in the district, till date. Similarly, 29 transgenders were given green houses near Kadamadai in the rural limits, under Chief Minister's Green House Scheme, they said. Further, 81 transgenders, who are above 40 years and economically backward, are being given Rs 1,000 per month as financial assistance, the sources said.
