The State’s interim Budget for the financial year 2026-2027 was presented in the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly on Tuesday (February 17, 2026) by Finance Minister Thangam Thennarasu ahead of the Assembly elections due this summer. Also, the interim Agriculture Budget was presented by the portfolio Minister M.R.K. The Economic Survey of Tamil Nadu 2025-26, handed over to Chief Minister M.K. Stalin on Monday (February 16, 2026), said the State’s per capita income growth has consistently outpaced the national average. On Friday (February 20), the Finance Minister will present in the House the demand for advance grants for the year 2026-2027 and additional expenditure for 2025-2026 for its approval.
