Tambuwal meets Obasanjo behind closed doors, vows to tackle banditry


DAUD OLATUNJIFormer President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, and Sokoto State Governor, Aminu Tambuwal, on Saturday, held a closed-door meeting in Abeokuta, Ogun State. The meeting was held at the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library Pent House, immediately after the governor arrived at about 2.30pm. The Special Assistant on Media to the former President, Kehinde Akinyemi, confirmed the closed-door meeting in a statement on Saturday. The statement with the title, ‘Obasanjo still relevant for consultations on issues of governance and challenges,’ described the visit by Tambuwal as an unscheduled one. The statement quoted the governor as saying he visited Obasanjo for consultation on governance and other issues.
