Hong Kong’s sole delegate to China’s top legislative body, Tam Yiu-chung, said the government should not rule out postponing the upcoming Legco elections amid the surge in coronavirus patients, RTHK reports. Tam said that with more than 50 days to go until the elections, he said the government cannot guarantee the epidemic will be under control by then. He said he was worried there would be another outbreak linked to lots of people standing in line to vote. The Legco elections are expected to take place on September 6. Hong Kong is now experiencing a severe outbreak of coronavirus cases and Chief Executive Carrie Lam on Sunday described the situation as "really critical".
