Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has reaffirmed the government's commitment to the renewed bipartisan talks but reiterated that the talks will not be about a handshake or sharing of government. He said the talks will solely focus on important issues in the country. Gachagua said the Opposition has no other option but to engage in the bipartisan talks because they had no chance to go back to the streets for demonstrations which were now unacceptable. Cheruiyot said as member of the talks team, he had ensured the password to the meetings was first the recognition of President Ruto by the Azimio side. "We are asking wananchi not to worry because we know what we are doing in the talks," Cheruiyot said.
