Sri Lanka tightened things in the second session, but the odd loose delivery did come about and Dhawan didn't fail to capitalise. Barring that one not out, against Australia in Dharamsala, the Karnataka man got his eye in then and threw his wicket away. He started the second session in style upping the ante but tried to take on the Malinda Pushpakumara in his first over and perished. He also accounted for Dhawan and combined well with Chinaman bowler Lakshan Sandakan to curtail India's run-flow. The pacers, Kumara and Fernando, were negotiated well by Kohli who went on to score 42 before he departed chasing a wide one from Sandakan.
