Talbot Forest Cheese recalls products as 'precautionary' measure.


Talbot Forest Cheese says the recall of its products is precautionary, and there is no confirmed presence of listeria on its site. “We appreciate this will be causing some of our customers concern, and we apologise for this inconvenience,” a Talbot Forest Cheese (TFC) spokesman told Stuff on Sunday. MPI’s director of compliance Gary Orr said on Friday it had received "unconfirmed test results indicating the presence of listeria in one of the products processed at the Talbot Forest Cheese factory in Temuka”. These include: Aged Gouda 200g, Castle Rock 150g, Cheshire 150g, Cumin Gouda 200g, Cow Feta 150g, Garlic & Chive Gouda 200g, Geraldine Vintage Cheddar 150g, Traditional Goat Feta 150g, Goat Gouda 150g, Gruyere 150g, Creamy Havarti 150g, Maasdam 150g, Mesopotamia Blue 150g, Mild Gouda 200g, Mozzarella 250g, Mt Peel Blue 150g, Mt Somers Blue 150g, Pepato 170g, Peppered Havarti 150g, Peppered Gouda 200g, Raukapuka Red 150g, Smokey Manuka 150g, Waihi Blue 150g and Wood Brie Blue 125g“The company recognises the potential risk and is working to have the product removed from shelves. The spokesman for TFC said there was “no confirmed presence of listeria in our products, or in any products made on our site”.
