Our country is still attracting thousands of foreign students although our borders have yet to reopen, as reported in “Foreign students eager to study here” (The Star, Aug 28). So, with this window of opportunity, we need to draw up the right strategy to bring in more foreign students. The Higher Education Ministry has taken the decision to ban the entry of foreign students for the time being because of the yet unresolved Covid-19 infections worldwide. There is fear that the entry of foreign students may exacerbate the situation in our country.
