David Hockney, the artist inspired by his native England, the French countryside and Southern California’s swimming pools, is on display in a newly restored film, a recent novel and a coming exhibit. The exhibition, opening Sept. 14 at Pace Gallery in New York, consists of drawings Mr. Hockney made recently around his house and garden in Normandy, reflecting the dawn of spring in Northern France.
