Taiwan opens direct hiring of Vietnamese caregiversBy Sam Garcia / Staff writer, with CNAEmployers can now directly hire workers from Vietnam for jobs in caregiving, agriculture, construction, meat-packing, offshore fishing and diverse companionship services, the Ministry of Labor announced today. Now employers may use the ministry’s Direct Hiring Service Center (DHSC) to handle recruitment for the additional sectors, making the process faster and more convenient, it said. The center helps employers quickly find suitable workers to meet labor needs, while also reducing domestic and overseas brokerage fees, it said. The DHSC was founded in 2008 to help employers handle recruitment, strengthen government-to-government direct hiring, align with international fair recruitment trends and provide more diverse hiring channels. Employers submit their labor needs to the center, which then asks source countries to provide a list of candidates for employers to select from.
