Taiwan budget carrier eyes Asian cities in December flights

Taipei-based StarLux Airlines Co. announced today that it will launch flights to three Asian cities in December as part of its plans for the post-coronavirus recovery. In a statement, StarLux said it will launch flights to Bangkok, Osaka and Tokyo in December to tap into important hubs in Asia, with bookings for flights to Bangkok and Osaka available from November 2 and those for Tokyo slated for mid-November, CNA reports. Beginning on December 1, StarLux will offer two weekly flights from Taoyuan International Airport to Bangkok International Airport (BKK, Suvarnabhumi) on Tuesdays and Fridays, and to Kansai Airport (KIX, Osaka) on Tuesdays and Fridays from December 15. Starting on December 16, twice weekly flights will also fly to Narita Airport (NRT, Tokyo) from Taoyuan on Wednesdays and Saturdays, it said. Since launching operations early this year, StarLux has gradually restarted its services following a full suspension of flights after the outbreak of the new coronavirus, recently resuming daily flights to Macau and twice weekly flights to Penang in Malaysia.
