Chinese Taipei has just suffered a great setback in its participation in international activities. It's the first blow Chinese Taipei had after Tsai's inauguration on May 20. Ma had stopped Taiwan's war with China over diplomatic allies, getting Taiwan a ticket into the WHA on 2008 and every year since. Chinese Taipei is an APEC member and was represented at the previous APEC summit in 2006. Judging by how things are going between Taiwan and China, it's likely that a newly China-friendly Vietnam would need to get Beijing to approve Taiwan's delegation.
