Yuen Long district councillor Henry Wong Pak-yu. Taiwan has condemned the arrest of two pan-democratic district councilors under the controversial national security law, CNA reports. Police arrested Yuen Long district councilor Henry Wong Pak-yu and Kowloon City's Timothy Lee Hin-long on Sunday morning for allegedly exaggerating their election expenses. The arbitrary detentions by Hong Kong police on national security grounds have infringed on Hong Kong people's freedom and human rights, said the MAC, Taiwan's top agency for China policy-making. Li was previously arrested on May 24 during a rally against the Hong Kong National Security Law in Causeway Bay.
