Brilliant direction, superb acting and well-written script are the reasons why Bombay Tailors has become a favourite of audiences. Surabhi, winner of the national film award for the best actress, excelled as the heroine of the play. The play is based on a Telugu short story written by Mohammed Khadir Babu. Peerubhai’s peaceful and uneventful life faces a hurdle when readymade dresses sold by multinational companies become popular. The play begins with a jobless Peerubhai turning up for an interview for a tailor’s job in a multinational firm that makes readymade garments.
