If there is a Hindi film actor who matches the record of most number of films released post-pandemic set by Akshay Kumar (14 releases), it is Taapsee Pannu. The actor holds the rare distinction of being perhaps the only Bollywood actress, who, in August, will have her 11th film title up for release. “This is not planned!” Taapsee told Indianexpress.com with a smile when pointed out that her latest release Phir Aayi Hasseen Dillruba will be her 10th release since 2021. Filmmaker Anubhav Sinha’s Thappad was Taapsee’s last theatrical release before the coronavirus pandemic shut the world down in 2020. In 2020, Thappad was released, and Haseen Dilruba was supposed to be released the same year, but we had the lockdown.
