TVNZ's Sunday programme has defended its decision to air a controversial interview with Australian celebrity chef Pete Evans about coronavirus. The segment, which explored Covid-19 conspiracy theories, was criticised when it first aired on 60 Minutes Australia last Sunday. But Sunday said it believed the story was balanced, and offered a challenge to views that were already circulating on social media. Matt Klitscher Pete Evans acknowledged coronavirus existed, but said he would not consider taking a vaccine, should it be developed. "The power of these so-called 'fringe ideas' is often delivered by social media by a community of like-minded people."
