Viewers have a choice of 4,000 hours of feature films, television series and documentaries from France, Canada, Belgium, Switzerland and French-speaking Africa, with subtitles in five languages including French to help learners. “The aim is to enable the people in 194 countries to discover the rich offering of programmes in French,” Yves Bigot, head of the TV5Monde network, said. “We are not positioning ourselves as a rival to the American platforms.
