TUM is not broke, official says amid claims it can't pay ex-VC Mwatelah


Technical University of Mombasa has denied reports it is broke amid claims it cannot pay former VC Josephat Mwatelah his Sh28 million. A court ordered the payment for the former vice chancellor's wrongful dismal in 2016. As a result, the ex-VC was awarded Sh28 million to be paid in four installments of Sh7 million each. Should the university pay Sh4.9 million the remaining times, Mwatelah may get out of the mutual concept, a move that will see him get Sh48 million as earlier calculated.
