Share:On Saturday, a policeman in Tank District was shot dead and another officer was hurt while guarding a polio vaccination team in an attack that was claimed by the TTP a day after they called off a ceasefire with the government. It is extremely concerning that an attack has been conducted so soon and the group is clearly trying to give a message. The TTP did not negotiate in good faith and now the state must assert its dominance. Of course, this will have to be done tactfully and perhaps we should target the more violent and notorious factions within the TTP. The TTP has lost cover now that the IEA has said that the two organisations do not share the same objectives.
