Some TTC passengers were forced to evacuate their train in the middle of a subway tunnel after a small fire at Dundas West station. The train was heading west between Lansdowne and Dundas West stations when passengers had to be evacuated mid-tunnel. “The incident at Dundas West was not necessarily due to weather,” TTC spokesperson Hayley Waldman said. Speaking generally about mid-tunnel evacuations, “it’s something that’s happened before but it’s not something that happens with any regularity,” Waldman said. TTC spokesperson Stuart Green said the agency has not yet determined the cause of the fire.
