TRAVEL: Germany places 19 regions on ‘high risk’ list


Having introduced sweeping reforms to testing and travel rules at the start of August – including dispensing with the ‘basic risk’ area category – the number of countries on the ‘high risk’ list is growing rapidly. As of Sunday, 8th August, popular tourist destinations such as Morocco, Mexico, the Philippines, Thailand as well as Trinidad and Tobago and Vietnam were all classed as high-risk areas. In light of spiralling infection rates, these regions now join Andorra, Britain, Portugal, Russia, Spain and Cyprus as part of a handful of European jurisdictions on the RKI’s high-risk list. Netherlands no longer on high incidence listThough the high-risk list is growing week-on-week, the Netherlands was removed from the RKI’s list of risk areas on Sunday.
