The call was issued by at a convention of the Trinamul Mahila Congress, the party's wing, held here on Thursday. "The rural polls are ahead and it is the semi-final match to obliterate BJP from the state, before the finals (Parliament elections) of 2019. At the convention, over 15,000 women Trinamul workers and supporters from the north Bengal districts had assembled to hear the leaders. The event was planned by party supremo Mamata Banerjee, during a similar convention of Trinamul Youth Congress held in Siliguri on last month. Sashi Panja, another member of the state cabinet and a state leader of Trinamul's women's wing, was critical at the Centre.
