KUALA LUMPUR: Telekom Malaysia Bhd’s (TM) expects 2017 to be a “solid year” for the group with further top-line growth after its annual revenue crossed the RM12 billion mark for the first time in 2016. Revenue for the year ended Dec 31, 2016 (FY16) hit RM12.06 billion, up 2.89% compared with RM11.72 billion reported a year earlier. The group projects FY17 revenue to go up by between 3.5% and 4%, driven by its data, Internet and multimedia services. We closed the year with a broadband customer base of over 2.37 million,” TM group chief executive officer Tan Sri Zamzamzairani Mohd Isa said at a media briefing yesterday. Maintaining its target that Webe will turn around by 2019 at the earliest, TM said progress had been on the mark.
