The National Security Committee (NSC) has vowed not to allow the banned Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) to challenge the writ of the state while taking serious note of the violent attacks carried out by activists of the proscribed organisation. The statement comes following the 35th meeting of the NSC which was convened under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Imran Khan on Friday, according to an official statement. The NSC received a detailed briefing on the country’s internal security situation and the ongoing agitation by the TLP. The two-hour-long meeting was held to take stock of the situation in the wake of violent protests by the banned TLP. Rashid also told journalists that Prime Minister Imran Khan will address the nation on Saturday or Sunday.
