With International Right to Know Day set to be celebrated on Thursday, September 28, Transparency International Bangladesh (TIB) formed a human chain to press seven-point demands to ensure the right to information on Wednesday. The human chain was organised in front of the Teacher-Student Centre at Dhaka University. The demands, which came to light through TIB directed awareness programmes, were:The human chain was presided over by TIB Executive Director Iftekharuzzaman. The Right to Information Act has been introduced to make this freedom strong and effective. The TIB chief also criticised the Section 57 of the ICT Act and urged the government to ensure people’s right to know.
